European scientists are turning an aircraft into a laboratory that simulates lunar gravity to prepare astronauts and technology for future moon landings as part of the NASA-led Artemis missions. <br/><br/>The moon is a strange little world. Only about 1.2% the mass of Earth, our planet's companion exerts a much weaker gravitational force on objects on its surface than the parent planet. As a result, an astronaut on the moon's surface feels as if he or she only weighs one sixth of their earthly weight. The same goes for all equipment the astronauts would use. It may sound like no big deal but this feeble gravitational pull creates all sorts of unforeseen problems that are difficult to prepare for in research labs on Earth. An MMA star has been handed a lifetime ban from the Hard Fighting Championship after kicking a ring girl before his about over the weekend.<br/><br/>Iranian fighter Ali Heibati faced Arkady Osipyan at the Hardcore MMA tournament in Moscow on Friday night.<br/><br/>Before the fight had even underway, Heibati bizarrely stepped forward and kicked a ring girl in the derriere as she walked past holding up a card signaling that the opening round was about to start.<br/><br/>The woman turned around and was taken aback by Heibati's behavior, approaching him to voice her disapproval before the referee stepped in to keep them apart and appeared to warn Heibati about his conduct.<br/><br/>The fight was allowed to start moments later, but it was a short contest as Osipyan secured victory by technical knockout in the first round.<br/><br/>His win was confirmed by the referee waving off the fight with just over 30 seconds left in the round as he determined Heibati was in no position to defend himself.<br/><br/>As the referee walked Osipyan back to his corner, Heibati rose to his feet and started attacking his opponent, landing multiple cheap shots while his back was turned.<br/><br/>He was quickly pulled away and several people got into the cage to separate the two men while they awaited the official verdict.<br/><br/>The drama wasn't over there, as the two fighters took the microphone inside the cage afterward.<br/><br/>Heibati seemed annoyed by something that was said to him and aimed another kick, this time at head height toward a commentator, before exchanging angry words with the man.<br/><br/>Further footage has emerged of Heibati then getting attacked by members of the crowd following his bout as he was pushed over some chairs and took several blows to the head.<br/><br/>Following his shameful actions, Heibati took to social media to apologize to the ring girl named Maria.<br/><br/>'Hello everyone. This is for Maria. I didn't act right with her. The reason was that before the MMA fight, there were a lot of fistfights. I stayed there in the cage and I just wanted to go out and fight,' he said. <br/><br/>'I was tense and, as most understand, emotions flourish in the fight, so before the fight, I acted badly towards María.<br/><br/>'I want to publicly apologize to her. I am a married man, so I respect the female gender. She was doing her job and I, after the fight, didn't admit my guilt either, because they also hit me on the head. Tell María that I am sorry.'<br/><br/>Despite his apology, Heibati has still been hit with a lifetime ban from HFC. <br/><br/>He is not the first MMA star to lose his job after outrageous behavior inside the cage Brazilian youngster Igor Severino was cut from the UFC last month for biting his opponent on his debut with the organization.<br/><br/>Severino took a chunk out of his fellow Brazilian Andre Lima's arm and was disqualified before losing his job, and he subsequently revealed that he received death threats following his behavior.

An Iranian goalkeeper has been handed a fine and one-match suspension after hugging a female fan, who was being chased by security for reportedly not wearing the compulsory hijab.<br/><br/>Hossein Hosseini, goalkeeper for Esteghlal - one of the top teams in Iran - has been reprimanded by the Iranian football federation after he embraced a fan who had made her way to the side of the pitch. <br/><br/>Hijabs, or headscarves, have been compulsory for women in Iran since the 1979 revolution, enforcing what is widely considered by many Muslim women around the world to be a matter of choice.<br/><br/>Footage shows the moment when the fan made her way onto the pitch with her hair showing after her hijab had fallen, where she was accosted by security. <br/><br/>Hosseini can then be seen making his way over and appearing to gesture for the security to step away as there was no danger and embraced the fan. <br/><br/>However further security guards then raced to the scene and pulled Hosseini away from the supporter and escorted him off the pitch while a small scuffle broke out. <br/><br/>Fans in the stands appeared to throw objects at security as they escorted Hosseini away and seemed to applaud the fans and Hosseini as he left the field under escort. <br/><br/>According to reports, spectators continued to seemingly gesture angrily and allegedly chant 'shame on you' at the security guards as they remained on the field. <br/><br/>After Hosseini had been guided away from the field, several of his Esteghlal teammates approached the scene, one of whom gave the fan his shirt. <br/><br/>The fan then ran towards a corner of the ground that seemed predominantly made up of female supporters, whirling the shirt above her head in celebration as the rest of the stadium cheered her back to her seat as she pulled her hijab back on. <br/><br/>According to Iranian publication Khabar Varzeshi, Hosseini - who has played 11 times for the national team - was handed a fine of around £3,800 and a ban for one game for his actions, which were reportedly deemed 'unprofessional and beyond the legal duties of a player'.<br/><br/>The Esteghlal captain then reportedly made a public comment after being called into the federation disciplinary committee to explain himself, allegedly saying: 'I will pay the fine, for the sake of that lady'. <br/><br/>Yet reports suggest that these comments did not go down well, with the IRNA - Iran's official news agency - reporting that Hosseini could face a further penalty due to his public comments.

: Sri Lanka and India are working on an estimated USD 1.2 billion undersea transmission line that will link the island nation’s power grind with that of India to provide energy security to this country, a top Sri Lankan official said on Tuesday.<br/><br/>The proposal is to link Sri Lanka’s north central town of Anuradhapura and Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu state in India through a direct power line.<br/><br/>After a 130-km overland transmission line in India, an undersea line (via a submarine cable) will emerge at Thiruketheeswaram in Mannar in northeast Sri Lanka.<br/><br/>Sulakshana Jayawardena, Secretary to the Ministry of Power and Energy said, “This will raise our hopes on energy security.”<br/><br/>He said this days after the fifth meeting of the India-Sri Lanka joint working group (JWG) for cooperation in the power sector was held on February 28 here. The High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka Santosh Jha also attended the meeting.<br/><br/>“The proposal for the power grid interconnection was discussed at this meeting,” Jayawardena said.<br/><br/>The 4th meeting of the JWG was held in June 2019 in India. This was the 5th meeting of the JWG.<br/><br/>A statement from the Indian High Commission said that during the meeting, discussions were held on the power grid interconnection between India and Sri Lanka and the Sampur Solar Power project, to be built by India in Sri Lanka’s eastern Trincomalee district.<br/><br/>On March 1, India and Sri Lanka signed an agreement for the development of a hybrid renewable energy system for the Delft, Analativu and Nainativu islands of the northern Jaffna peninsula.<br/><br/>The project, to be carried out under grant assistance from the Government of India, will comprise a 530 kw of wind power, 1,700 kw of solar power, 2,400 kWh of battery power and a 2,500 kw diesel power system for the three islands, which are not connected to Sri Lanka’s national grid.<br/><br/>The proposal to link Sri Lanka with the Indian power grid was proposed more than a decade ago, but it has made little progress till now. In 2023, Sri Lanka said it had hoped to get the transmission line in place within two to three years so that renewable power produced on the island/s can be sold to India.<br/><br/>After the February 28 meeting, Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary, India’s Ministry of Power, highlighted the benefits that could be accrued by Sri Lanka in the power sector integration with India.<br/><br/>“It would cause significant cost reductions with Sri Lanka gaining capacity to export to India once the offshore wind capacity in Sri Lanka is harnessed. (It will) also encourage private sector investment in Sri Lanka’s power sector,” he said, according to a statement from the Indian mission in Colombo.<br/><br/>However, there is no formal agreement in place as yet. Jayawardena told a local news channel that earlier there was an MoU signed between the two countries to conduct necessary technical assessment.<br/><br/>“That is the only agreement.
