Description: Lousy iPhone footage of a cool animal!The aquatic, gilled immatures of this species are called larvae, and Will found several in a small pond high in Ward Canyon on the west side of Lake Tahoe today (7 July 2014).A few were lying motionless on the bottom, but this one was swimming along near the surface, chasing mosquito larvae, and regularly gulping air.Transformed adults are terrestrial and breath through lungs (contrary to a popular Sierra Nevada field guide), so I can't help but wonder
